A new era begins for Spain with Mayuko Fujiki
From Synkrolovers we inform you that, as you know, Spain is about to experience another big change. Mayu will be the new national synchronization coach!
Now that we can speak openly about it, let’s put you in the story. Synkrolovers brings you closer to Fujiki, so you can meet the coach who will lead the best Spanish swimmers until, at the moment, the Olympic Games of Tokyo 2020.
Mayu is a synchronized swimming coach with a lot of international prestige and is highly respected by coaches and judges wherever she goes. Especially after his great work with China in recent years. A very important aspect and that we must take care in our sport!
Mayuko, of Japanese origin, swam for her country and went on to win an Olympic medal at the 1996 Atlanta Games. She later started her coaching career in Japan and the USA. It was in 2003 when Anna Tarrés recruited her as coach for the Spanish National Team. It was in our golden age in which the 1st world medal (Barcelona 03) was achieved until 2011 without ceasing to be on the European, Olympic and world podium.
In 2011 he decided to fly higher in her career as an artistic swimming professional. She wanted to make her debut as a responsible coach and trainer: with the USA. “Your second home.” She does not hide that it was hard for her, but it served her to tan and to learn. She returned to Spain for a short time as China offered her to be her coach in 2014. By this way they prepared the Games of Rio 2016. They were 2 ½ years very intense that finished with 2 Olympic silver medals. The best result ever achieved by the country!
The most artistic Japanese technique
She also achieved the goal the federation had set for her: to get China off its own style without losing or even improving its execution. Good choreography, to ensure that this time they would not lose the Olympic silver to anyone, as it had happened in London 2012 against Spain. And so, in Rio 2016, China shines more than ever, not only for its execution, but for the originality of its choreographies.
This past season has continued in China and although the country has insisted that she stay, Mayu has accepted the challenge of putting Spain at the top of the world ranking. For the moment, starting by classifying the team for participation in the next Games.
This will not stop good relations with China. Mayu has said publicly that he wants to maintain the friendship with the 2nd best country in the world in synchronized. Not only that, Spain (currently ranked 6th), and China will have a very close relationship. Concentrations will be made sharing facilities and will help each other.
It will be an arduous and difficult task, Italy and Japan are upstairs and there is little time. Spain has a very young team, but we trust in Mayuko Fujiki will display his magic, his experience and skills to redirect Spain to the dominion of the world podium of synchronized swimming.
